Job description

Job Summary:
New York University is seeking Junior Research Scientists as part of its Polymathic AI initiative, focused on building foundation models for scientific analysis. The role involves developing AI models, curating datasets, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to tackle scientific challenges using advanced machine learning techniques.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and train large AI models for pressing scientific questions
• Curate large datasets pertinent to the initiative
• Develop, implement, maintain, and support software relevant to the initiative.
• Engage in foundation models for science research
• Collaborate with other software engineers, Flatiron Research Fellows, Research scientists
• Perform any other duties or tasks as required by the initiative
• Help build, improve, and support high-quality, open-source software libraries relating to efforts within the group
Qualifications:
Required:
• B.S., M.S. in machine learning, computer science, engineering or related technical discipline.
• Develop and train large AI models for pressing scientific questions
• Curate large datasets pertinent to the initiative
• Develop, implement, maintain, and support software relevant to the initiative.
• Engage in foundation models for science research
• Collaborate with other software engineers, Flatiron Research Fellows, Research scientists
• Perform any other duties or tasks as required by the initiative
• Help build, improve, and support high-quality, open-source software libraries relating to efforts within the group
