First-Line Engineering Manager

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a First-Line Engineering Manager (Level K) for the Digital Infrastructure Segment (DIS) of a Proprietary Program in Hazelwood, MO.

This position requires a strong leader and communicator that will work closely with program leadership, cross-functional engineering teams, IT, suppliers, tool owners, and other stakeholders to meet AD program common tool & application commitments. The selected leader willbe responsible formanaging theSoftware Applications and Tools team that supports,maintainsand enhances critical engineering tools & applications for a proprietary program.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the fields of Process Engineering
  • Develop and execute business plans, policies and procedures and develop organizational and technical strategies
  • Acquire resources, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, Chemistry or related technical discipline
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functionalproject/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership.

  • Experience working in the field of data-science
