Job description

CRYO-FIB/SEM Staff Scientist, CryoEM Facility, Biology, to lead the adoption of next-generation plasma FIB milling and in situ structural biology as the primary expert for the newly installed HydraBio plasma FIB/SEM; advance cellular and tissue imaging by developing cryo-FIB/ET and volume EM workflows, including fluorescence-guided targeting, precision milling, and lift-out; provide user training, experimental design consultation, and troubleshooting; collaborate on sample preparation, tomography, and data reconstruction; and drive innovative method development and publications; oversee instrument calibration, vendor servicing, and facility infrastructure, including liquid nitrogen and data storage; represent the facility through tours, workshops, and scientific outreach, strengthening cryo-ET and volume EM research across the Cambridge/Boston community.
