Job description

Labcorp is seeking an Operations Manager to join our team in Winston Salem, NC.
Work Schedule: Generally Monday - Friday (8a - 5p); flexibility required
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and track health system project milestones, timelines, and deliverables in direct alignment with MSA commitments, ensuring all contractual obligations are met on time and within scope
  • Indirectly supervise and develop laboratory operations staff across assigned health system sites, providing performance coaching, mentorship, and accountability to build high-performing and engaged teams.
  • Partner with the Sr Director and Regional Directors to implement workflow improvements, standardization initiatives, and cost reduction strategies; translate strategic directives into actionable site-level plans.
  • Track KPIs and quality metrics across assigned sites, identify root causes for variances, and lead corrective action planning to ensure consistent achievement of operational and financial targets.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Science & Technology, Quality Management, and Regional Lab teams to coordinate resources, resolve operational challenges, and execute initiatives on schedule.
  • Serve as a day-to-day operational liaison with health system laboratory managers and hospital leadership, proactively communicating progress, surfacing issues, and escalating appropriately to the Sr Director and Regional Directors
  • Lead site-level implementation of new processes, technology deployments, and service line expansions, ensuring staff readiness, adoption, and minimal disruption to laboratory operations.
  • Prepare and deliver regular operational status reports, project updates, and performance summaries for internal leadership and external health system stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Regional Directors, Sr. Director of Health Systems, Quality Management, Supply Chain, and Sourcing & Procurement teams.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with hospital laboratory managers, department supervisors, health system administrative contacts, and vendor partners to facilitate smooth operations and long-term partnership success.
  • Build trusted client relationships, and cultivate a high-performing operational team culture aligned with Labcorp's standards of quality and service excellence.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
  • ASCP or AMT certification
  • 5 years or more of clinical laboratory operations experience
  • 2 years or more in a supervisory or project coordination role supporting a health system.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP or Six Sigma Green Belt
