Job description

Position Summary:
The Raw Materials Technician is responsible for supporting the Raw Materials Specialist in supporting production needs. This position is also responsible for supporting the rest of the Production Department as needed.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Raw Materials Lab inventory, logbooks, and other documentation
  • Issue raw materials to meet Production Schedule
  • Maintain inventory in applicable systems
  • Assist with the destruction of all rejected items
  • Must comply with the current Good Practices (cGMP’s) for drug products as defined in the Code of Federal Regulation, Title 21, Parts 210 and 211, SOP, and company policies in all work
  • Must comply with OSHA Regulations for handling Hazardous materials, flammable and otherwise
  • Reinforce department and company policies to promote and support a positive work environment
  • Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including possible mandatory overtime.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the Raw Materials lab in a clean and orderly manner
  • Maintain Raw Materials equipment and utensil preventive maintenance and calibration schedules
  • Substitute for positions on the production line as needed
  • Monitor inventory of raw materials
  • Perform other duties assigned by management
  • Conduct Cycle counts on raw materials
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a science lab (biology and/or chemistry)
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Able to work with basic lab equipment such as analytical balance, glassware, calculator, thermometer
  • Able to apply and utilize the metric system
  • Good computer skills to enter, store, and retrieve data
  • Willing and able to immediately adapt to changes in policies and procedures
  • Able to perform basic algebra calculations on a calculator
Valued but not required skills and experience:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a clean room and laboratory
  • Proactive approach to problem resolution and problem-solving ability
