Job description

The Wistar Institute is a world leader in early-stage discovery science in the areas of cancer, immunology, and infectious disease. Wistar is committed to accelerating research advances from bench to bedside through brilliant science and distinctive approaches to collaboration among scientific investigators and academic and industry partners. Wistarโ€™s dynamic environment supports the advancement of discoveries that will change the future of human health.ย 

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Dr. Filippo Veglia. The Veglia lab focuses on the study of molecular and metabolic perturbations that drive the reprogramming of myeloid cells in the brain tumor microenvironment, with a final goal to identify novel therapeutic strategies to target immunosuppressive myeloid cells.

Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, a strong drive for learning, and the ability to work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other lab members. Duties will include lab maintenance (inventory, ordering, lab operations support), murine colony maintenance, murine models, flow cytometry, molecular biology and cell-mediated assays. Candidates with experience in murine models, molecular biology, and cellular immunology preferred.ย 

A bachelorโ€™s or masterโ€™s degree in science-related field (or equivalent) is required.ย
