Calgary's science centre is a pioneer in scienceentertainment and programming, with roots dating back to 1967. Home to one ofWestern Canada's largest dome theatre, the Digital Immersion Gallery, VRexperiences, and innovative spaces like Steven's Lab, where interactiveexperiments unfold before your eyes. From the robot-dog Flint to Canada's firstrobot-coa5ter, R05iE, and a 15-acre park surrounding the science of thedeveloping brain, Spark is a hub for creative encounters. 

Position Overview

Spark is currently recruiting a part-time, contract(Jun 15, 2026- Sep 27, 2026) Science Guide, Food Services.The Science Guide, F&B reports directly to Supervisor, FoodServices.

The Science Guide FS is accountable for deliveringsuperb customer service to ensure guests satisfaction. This includes roles as acashier, assisting guests on their menu choices, upholding high level ofcleanliness and service, and being a brand ambassador for TELUS Spark.

Key Responsibilities

         Collaborateand contribute with the collective effort of proving great customer service andwelcoming atmosphere to our guests.

         Accuratelyand efficiently process transactions for guests.

         Developa positive working relationship with colleague and other staff in Spark.

         Workas a team and support all the food service staff in delivering of service.

         Keeparea stocked and clean.

         Engageguests and make them feel welcomed.

         Aim toincrease efficiency and reduce waste.

         Proactivelyidentify needs or issues that are or will impact guests and act accordingly.

         Protectemployees and customers by providing a safe and clean environment.

         Ensureall elements of the guest journey is held to the highest standard.

         Ensurepersonal and team activities are aligned with business and strategic goals ofSpark as a whole.

         Modelhigh performance, flexibility and kindness in a rapidly changing growthenvironment.

         Otherduties as required and assigned.

Qualifications & Knowledge

         Cashhandling experience.

         Ableto use cash registers and card payment systems.

         1-2years of related experience within the Customer Service field.

         Goodverbal communication skills and is able to listen and easily understand guests'requests.

         Abilityto answer and address customer questions and concerns in a manner that benefitsboth the guest and the organization.

         Abilityto work as part of the food service team to create an exceptional guestexperience.

         Thesuccessful candidate will be required to work weekends and evenings

         Aproven track record of adding value to an organization's culture andinitiatives.
