Job Summary

HillDay Public Relations, Inc. is seeking a Public Involvement Intern to support public engagement and outreach efforts for major infrastructure projects. This internship provides hands-on experience in stakeholder relations, event planning, and communications. The ideal candidate is a motivated student or recent graduate with a passion for public affairs, community engagement, and infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Public Engagement & Outreach
    • Assist in the development and execution of public involvement programs for infrastructure projects.
    • Support community engagement initiatives, stakeholder communications, and public outreach efforts.
    • Help plan and coordinate public meetings, hearings, and community events.
  • Communication & Content Development
    • Assist in creating public engagement materials, including fact sheets, newsletters, social media content, and website updates.
    • Draft presentations, talking points, and key messaging for public meetings and stakeholder outreach.
    • Research and compile stakeholder contact lists, demographics, and community insights.
  • Event Planning & Support
    • Assist in organizing logistics for public meetings, groundbreakings, and community events.
    • Help set up and staff events, including distributing materials and engaging with attendees.
    • Maintain event records and track public feedback.
  • Project Coordination & Research
    • Support the development of Public Involvement Plans and outreach strategies.
    • Conduct research on best practices for community engagement and public participation.
    • Maintain stakeholder correspondence and track public inquiries.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in public affairs, government relations, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media platforms.
