About the Role
Dedicated School Staffing is seeking organized, friendly, and dependable Substitute School Secretaries to support school office operations when regular staff are absent. This role is essential in maintaining smooth daily operations, assisting students, families, and staff, and ensuring the front office remains a welcoming and efficient hub of the school.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist students, families, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Answer phones, direct calls, and relay messages promptly
  • Assist with attendance reporting, student check-ins/outs, and daily office procedures
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, copying, data entry, and organizing documents
  • Support staff with scheduling, communication, and distribution of information
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
  • Follow district policies, safety procedures, and office protocols
  • Provide support during emergencies, drills, or unexpected situations
  • Collaborate with administrators and office staff to ensure smooth school operations

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Clean criminal background checks
  • Obtain Ohio ID account & enroll in Ohio rapback program
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (email, word processing, office software)
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
  • Professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in office administration, customer service, or school settings
  • Familiarity with student information systems or office software
  • Ability to remain calm and flexible during fast-paced or unexpected situations
