Job description

Job Summary: 
As a School Secretary, you will be the primary point of contact for our community, performing a wide variety of clerical and secretarial duties to ensure our school office remains organized, welcoming, and efficient. You will work closely with the principal on vital administrative tasks and serve as a key ambassador, coordinating communication between District personnel, parents, students, and the local community.
Primary Responsibilities:


  • Office Ambassador: Act as the face of the school by greeting visitors and managing phone calls with a professional, pleasant, and helpful demeanor. 

  • Student Success Support: Secure and maintain confidential records and facilitate smooth transitions for students moving schools. 

  • Operational Excellence: Organize office activities, manage mail, and proofread professional correspondence to keep the school running smoothly. 

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a secure environment by following District visitor procedures and coordinating field trips. 

  • Data Management: Utilize District systems to track and manage staff and student attendance, ensuring accuracy for unexcused absences and tardies. 

  • Resource Coordination: Process teacher orders, maintain office inventory, and manage school accounts and weekly deposits as directed. 


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Graduate of a recognized program of secretarial studies preferred.

  • One to two years' experience as a secretary is preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, such as Word and Excel, Google applications, and other school-related software. 

  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with staff and the public in a clear, articulate, and courteous manner. 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in office related tasks such as typing, filing, and organization.

  • Ability to positively react to change productively and handle additional tasks as assigned. Ability to exercise good judgment and work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. 


 Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting hourly pay of $18.38, with the rate of pay commensurate with prior relevant experience.  

  • Paid vacation, sick days, and personal days provided.

  • Access to a $100 wellness reimbursement program and an Employee Assistance Program for you and your family.

Work Conditions:

  • Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • This is a 10 month position, running from August 3, 2026, through mid-June.Â
