Contract jobs for school psychologists are those in which you operate as a licensed psychologist to aid students with additional needs. As a contract school psychologist, you have the same duties as a normal school psychologist, counseling students from grades K-12, but do so as a contract employee. This may provide some additional flexibility in terms of your hours and responsibilities, but means you lack the same workplace benefits as your colleagues. You evaluate students, collaborate with parents and teachers to build a support system, provide instructional services to promote positive behavior, and address mental health issues. A contract job for a school psychologist is temporary and may be extended depending on the needs of the school.
