Position Summary: The Lunch Assistant is a consistent presence during the lunch periods in the ECE (our youngest children). They are responsible for ensuring an orderly transition to and from lunch and nap time. The position supports the operational side of the school and is an important part of our community to ensure children have a safe and enjoyable lunch.

General duties:

• Relieves one homeroom adult and shares responsibility for the classroom with the other homeroom adult
• Helping children enjoy lunchtime in a safe environment.
• Supervising and helping students during their lunch/rest time/bathroom/waking up/recess and specials routine
• • Cleaning the classroom after lunch.
  • Helping the children transition from lunch to rest time.
  • Helping the children to relax in a calm and safe atmosphere.
  • Helping the homeroom adults as needed.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience working with children
• Fluent in French, Spanish or Chinese (preferred)
• English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• • Level B2 required, C1+ preferred (based on Common European Framework of References for Languages) or equivalent certification such as TOEFL or IETLS.

• Demonstrate ability in using digital tools such as a computer, iPad to participate in Professional learning.
• Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
• Lived experience in multicultural settings, including international work experience, and an appreciation and respect for all cultures
• Collaborative, team-oriented, globally- and open-minded, innovative, and compassionate
• Professionalism, punctuality, reliability, and an ability to exercise sound judgment and analytical, and problem solving skills

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

• Regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, crawl or kneel, climb ladders, and balance. Work may be indoors and outdoors, year-round. Work may involve dust, fumes and odors. Work may involve loud noises.

Location and Schedule: This is a part-time position with hours of 11:15-1:45pm M-F during the school year.
