Job description

The Kitchen Help will assist the kitchen staff in the preparation, production and the serving of nutritious food to Harry & David employees. This position will complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment ot proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklist. This position will be required to set up, stock, and maintain work areas. This position will inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all utensils, plates and cups prior to use, maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout he day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
  • Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pick up areas.
  • Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
  • Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
  • Ensure clothing and personal appearance is clean and professional.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Complete daily prep list.
  • Maintain workstation and areas, keeping them clean and orderly.
  • Accurately follows all recipes and specifications.
  • Rotates product correctly, following the FIFO (first in, first out) method in order to minimize waste.

REQUIREMENTS: Food Handlers Card
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong passion for serving delicious and nutritious food, guest service, and proper food safety/sanitation required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • This job may require protective/safety equipment such as glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
