Job description

Hi! I'm the girl named Jack and I'm the Food Service Director here at Round Lake Christian Camp! I'm hiring for the follow positions and shifts for this upcoming 2026 Summer Season.


Overview

The Prep Cook/Kitchen Help is responsible for providing a healthy, fulfilling meal for campers in a loving, Christian Environment.

As of 4/25/26,


We need 1-2 more 6am-2pm for Lodge Side Monday-Thursday

We need 1-2 more 10:30am-7pm Camp Side Monday-Thursday

The contract starts June 1st and runs through August 10th


This is a great opportunity for those who work the school systems and are looking for summer work options or teens that are looking for summer employment.


Responsibilities include

  1. Preparing, cooking, cleaning, and serving large quantities of food
  2. Using camp kitchen equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
    1. Grills, ovens, deep fryers, dishwasher, large mixer, food slicer, coffee maker, etc.
  3. Cleaning all camp kitchen equipment and camp kitchens as needed.
  4. Maintaining a high standard of sanitation in food preparation.
  5. Stocking pantry, storerooms, coolers, freezers on delivery days


Education/Experience

  1. Large quantity cooking experience preferred but not required. Will train those with a great mindset and taste buds!


Other Requirements

  1. Personal Qualities: Strives for good communication with co-workers, campers, volunteers. Has an interest in Christian camping; projects good health habits; has health and stamina to perform job effectively; maintains self-control in stressful situations; able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  2. Physical Demands: Exposed heat from burners, ovens, and steam trays. Exposed to cutting and slicing equipment and machine moving parts. Required to stand for prolonged periods.
  3. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  4. Valid Ohio drivers license
