Job description

East Grand Forks School District is seeking applicants for a Substitute Kitchen Helper. 
East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 8,500 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1900 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.
Terms:
Compensation will be $17.81/hour per the EGF ISD 595 Food Service Work Agreement.
This is a non benefited position.
Hours will be from will vary but the kitchen hours are generally 6:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Days are not guaranteed, this position is short call, as needed.
Qualifications:
Willingness to be flexible and fill in for kitchen helpers in a school kitchen on short notice.
Reporting Relationship:
The Kitchen Helper reports directly to the School Kitchen Manager and ultimatley to the Nutrition Services Manager
Basic Function of the Position:
The kitchen helper is responsible to assist in preparing, cooking, baking and serving a variety of foods, in large quantities,
while demonstrating proper food safety and effective sanitation practices in a school kitchen environment.
Job Description:
Assist the head cook in all aspects of school meal distribution inluding but not limited to meal preparation, cooking, portioning and serving school meals, as well as clean up.
Ensures proper safety, sanitation and food service preparation practices are followed and that food is prepared in a timely manner.
Attend all district-wide food service meetings.
