Job description

-JOB DESCRIPTION: BUS DRIVER
The driver of a school bus is responsible for the safety of students riding the bus; therefore, the students are under the authority and supervision of the bus driver while on the bus. Therefore, each bus driver shall observe all state laws and regulations pertaining to the safe use of school buses.
A bus driver shall hold a valid class B commercial drivers license with a passenger endorsement and Type I Missouri school bus operator permit in accordance with Section 302.272, RSMo prior to transporting students and shall submit all driver's license numbers to the transportation supervisor prior to the first day of school. A driver shall undergo a physical examination annually by a licenses physician, and shall present a signed physical examination certificate to the director of transportation prior to the first day of school.
Duties:

  1. Provide daily transportation to and from school in a safe timely manner.
  1. Perform pre-trip bus inspection daily.
  1. Keep a roster of students eligible to ride their bus.
  1. Utilize radio in accordance with FCC and school district regulations.
  1. Drivers shall maintain proper bus behavior.
