PURPOSE: To provide support to students on bus route.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ability to pass DOT physical fitness assessment.

· Obeys all traffic laws and rules and regulations of the MSD of Pike Township.

· Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.

· Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.

· Follows the adopted discipline plan.

· Keeps assigned bus clean.

· Keeps to assigned schedule and assigned route.

· Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.

· Notifies the Transportation Office in case of mechanical failure or lateness.

· Discharges students only at authorized stops.

· Transports only authorized students.

· Reports all accidents and completes required reports.

· Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.

· Enforces school bus rules and regulations for students.

· Monitors running time/mileage and brings bus in for routine maintenance.

· Keeps appropriate fuel usage records.

· Completes work order for required service and repair.

· Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as required by the transportation supervisor or his/her designee may assign.

TRAINING:

Free School Bus CDL Training is available for qualified candidates once the following tests are passed at your local Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles: General Knowledge, Passenger Transport, School Bus and Air Brakes.
