Behavior Technician - School Based - Westchester County

Details about this opportunity: 

  • Location: Westchester County, NY (school based)
  • Hours: Hours vary based on school district (Ex: Mon - Fri 8am - 3pm) Daytime hours 25-32 hours per week
  • Schedule: Follows the school district calendar, including holidays and breaks
  • Compensation: $25-$29/hourly

 Responsibilities: 

  • Respond to the goals, needs and requests of students and supervisors, on an individualized basis, and in a professional manner.
  • Work closely with school personnel (e.g. classroom/ special teachers, TAs, school psychologist, social worker, behavior consultant, related service provider) to ensure the student's success in the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with a behavior consultant and/or clinical supervisor to provide academic, behavioral, and social/emotional support to student with special needs
  • Assist with classroom assignments under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Implementation of behavior support plans or skill acquisition programs (data collection, progress reporting, CPI training and implementation) 
  • Help with daily living tasks, such as mobility, hygiene, and transitions.
  • Escort the student to different locations (bathroom, cafeteria, therapy sessions).
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding students in accordance with State and Federal regulations
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Understand and demonstrate the company core values.

  • Experience with students with autism and/or maladaptive behaviors preferred
  • Critical thinker with a problem-solving mind
  • Bilingual is a plus
