Job description

Position Overview

The Set Up Operator is responsible for the set up and changeovers of the filling equipment in the color department.   

 

General Job Description

 

The Set Up Operator sets up filling equipment for each new job order and facilitates any necessary troubleshooting of the proper operating status of the equipment.  

Qualifications

  • Experience in basic Machine Operating/Assembly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and frequent multi-tasking.
  • Excited to learn how to set up different equipment
  • Ability to collaborate well with other team members.
  • Meticulous and proactive individual who works effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Must maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment with limited supervision.
  • Ability to stand up to 9 hours a day while frequently bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, pushing, and pulling of products.
  • Ability to operate power lift equipment, including fork trucks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must follow all safety rules while executing their jobs efficiently.
  • Basic math skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

 

  • Complete necessary job paperwork, checklists, and forms
  • Ensure all materials and set up match work orders
  • Maintain supplies for each fill line as necessary to execute production schedule
  • Set up each fill line as necessary to meet work order instructions
  • Ensure filling equipment is operating correctly for the operators
  • Work safely, quickly, and efficiently to complete job tasks and to minimize down time
  • Communicate with fluid unit manager and maintenance any issues concerning the fill lines
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
  • Engage in problem solving to support continuous improvement and cost savings.
  • Support team in the color department
  • Please note job duties may change at any time due to business needs and assignments.
