Job description

$20.50 - $22.00 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of this job is to ensure pricing accuracy and signage for all products in Harmons’ stores. This person will be printing, sorting, and hanging price tags for all items in-store, adding items that do not scan to central database, creating signage for sale items, preparing reports, writing the schedule for scanning associates, and providing exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Ensures pricing accuracy and signage throughout the store by completing price changes daily and following the verification rotation plan
  • Prints and sorts 5,000-10,000 tags and signs from the current software systems on a weekly basis
  • Hangs tags throughout the store for price changes
  • Ensures end displays and sale items have correct pricing and signage
  • Hangs tags for specialty item designation including WIC, Local, Gluten-Free, and Dietitian’s Choice
  • Prepares overstock reports for department managers
  • Puts on Overstock pricing, extends, and expires based on current policy
  • Removes discontinued items from current software systems
  • Processes item opportunities via the “45 sheet” and IBM not-in-file report for items that are missing from the current software systems or didn’t scan correctly
  • Submits unidentified item report to the Support Office
  • Writes schedule for scanning associates to ensure proper coverage
  • Complete the STAR training program and successfully trains assistant
  • Scans out of stock items based on current policy
  • Checks email for recent communication (multiple times a day)
  • Maintains shelf strips as they become damaged (dirty, cut, stretched)
  • Maintains “can't finds” on a weekly basis to ensure proper pricing
  • Loads the monthly schematic Plan-O-Gram (POG) and maintains other aisle assignments in system
  • Completes marketing materials and campaign information
  • Active member of the Safety Committee which helps ensure the safety of both customers and associates
  • Communicates openly and frequently with the Data Systems Director, Store Director, and other department managers
  • Assists as needed to ensure the success of the store as a whole

MARGINIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Run process to delete items that haven’t moved
  • Send monthly follow-up to appropriate teams (action, plans, schedules)
  • Update Quick Reference Guide and Ad Book weekly
  • Attend managers meeting weekly and discuss opportunities
  • Responsible to effectively train all associates on team
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred; two years scanning experience preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, balance friendliness with efficiency, and maintain focus
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to learn the store and department layouts
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with diverse groups of people
  • Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success
  • Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized skills and techniques
  • Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and commitment to working collaboratively

Also requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 20 pounds from location to location.
