Job description

Position Overview
Sofidel America of Inola is currently seeking a Gatehouse Operator. We are searching for a candidate who is local to the area and is looking for a long-term role in a stable environment. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team!
Job Responsibilities
  • This individual is responsible for monitoring all inbound and outbound traffic and operates all gatehouse operator functions in a fast pace processing plant and/or a transportation facility environment. The Security & Gate House Operator is to ensure the safety of employees, equipment, and property by keeping accurate logs of any visitor, employees, and contractor arrival and departure times.
  • Take live weights of inbound and outbound loads.
  • Understand data flow through the supply chain and database systems.
  • Operate the scale system, take ownership of key reports, and communicate with transportation drivers and management.
  • Maintain accuracy of data in the scale program, which includes transportation, processing, billing, and reports.
  • Monitor and record all ingress and egress of the location to include all vehicles and pedestrians; issues guest badge using the site access system.
  • Secure the facility by notifying appropriate authorities if an intruder is on the property.
  • First point of contact for all emergencies on the property.
  • Monitor calls offline and notifies department leads promptly.
  • Control all lanes of traffic with the automatic gate arms.
  • Observe and report unsafe drivers.
  • Monitor alarm panels, fire pump, and camera security systems.
  • Provide written reports, fire, ambulance, disgruntled employees, and suspicious activity 24 hours a day.
  • Maintain accurate overall record keeping for reporting and analysis.
  • Provide and maintain excellent customer service and efficient communication.
  • Use of telephone and/or radio communications with worksite operators and/or office personnel. Maintain good housekeeping to avoid debris on or around scales for accurate reporting.
  • Comply with all company policies/procedures and state regulations for factual reporting.

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) to three (3) years related experience; and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good time-management, planning, and organizational skills.
