Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking for a Third Operator to join its team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our Bacchus facility located in Magna, Utah facility.

Duties, Expectations and Essential Functions:

Primary assignment is in the Bacchus 1800 Gallon Mix/Cast area performing activities supporting the supplies and stocking of the mix/cast facilities and tasks associated with the manufacturing of rocket motors.

Area specific essential functions, responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

Demonstrated skills and aptitude to safely lead and efficiently perform tasks associated with 1800 gallon mixing and casting various rocket motors.
Responsibilities include safely conducting manual hands on activities involving energetic ingredients and propellant.
Demonstrated skills to operate overhead cranes, hand tools and remotely operated equipment.
Demonstrated ability to safely perform spotting operations and demonstrated willingness to follow the directions of a spotter.
Physical ability to individually lift objects up to 50 pounds
Ability to read, clearly interpret and accurately follow standard work and other written instructions.
Must be willing to perform shift work and work on weekends and holidays. Must be willing to work overtime as required.
Complete and sustain sound proficiencies in all required training, including all Quality Assurance MTI (manufacture to inspect) skill based training.
Must be able to process and apply basic math and measurement functions.
Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Third Operator essential functions and expectations include, but are not limited to:

May assist less experienced co-workers in acquiring the skills and experiences to fully function in the work area
Effectively and constructively communicate with leadership, coworkers and support team members as needed
Participates in PES improvement activities, process/procedure improvements and standard work instructions to improve the work area
Participates in SIS activities, hazard abatements, OP-E, Take Two, etc.
Demonstrate the initiative and ability to become knowledgeable and proficient in area processes as directed
Work to enhance personal safety, quality, cost and scheduling
Other duties as assigned by leadership

Bids shall be awarded to the senior qualified employee. In selecting the senior qualified employee, the Company will take into account the employee's ability to do the work, ability to perform the essential functions of the job, specific job experience on similar or related jobs, past job performance and such factors that would contribute to safe workmanship. In the event insufficient bids are received for the opening, the position will be filled in accordance with other provisions of this Agreement. Employee may be required to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Upon successful bid award, employee will be restricted from bidding in accordance with the current union contract.
