Job description

You will be the Scale Model Maker for the Technical Displays (TD) team which is responsible for creating highimpact physical models that showcase Lockheed Martin's innovative solutions.


What You Will Be Doing


As the Scale Model Maker you will be responsible for turning design concepts into tangible models that support marketing, experiments, and customer demonstrations.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Construct and finish marketing display models ranging from fullsize to desktop using plastics, polyester resin, ABS, and other materials.

  • Build and fabricate conceptual study models, from rough proofofconcept pieces to highquality, complex assemblies.

  • Manage exhibit model inventory, coordinate with the exhibit team and customers, and stage models for shows.

  • Apply paint using HVLP guns, hobby airbrushes, and hand brushes to achieve professional finishes.

  • Operate and maintain shop equipment, including 3axis mill, lathe, table saw, router, and belt sander, in a safe, efficient manner.

  • Utilize 3D printing practices and associated post-process finishing

  • Physical ability to move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), stage model crates, pull individual desktop model boxes and parcel for customization, set up and dismantle models, inspection, and assessing one-off model repairs required post-shows.
