Job description

Job Summary:
The Boat Guy Inc. is seeking a full-time skilled and detail-oriented Marine Mechanic / Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background, including outboard engine maintenance, troubleshooting repairs, and repowers, as well as a familiarity with related vessel systems such as 12 V electrical, sanitation, and hydraulic systems. This role requires a passion for marine technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Join our team and enjoying working four day weeks in the summer and winter!
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and Repair Marine Engines: Identify issues in outboard engines, including electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, through competent troubleshooting practices
Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on boats and marine equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and other essential service tasks
Electrical Systems Work: Conduct repairs and maintenance on 12 volt electrical systems, including batteries, ignition systems, and wiring
Communication: Communicate clearly with the service team regarding the status of repairs, estimated timelines, and any necessary actions or recommendations
Qualifications:
Education: Technical degree or certification in marine mechanics or a related field is preferred but not required
Experience: Candidates should have strong capabilities or past mechanical experience in a field, such as marine (preferred), truck, RV, equipment, motorcycle, or small engine
Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components
Tools & Equipment: Must possess own tools, specialty tools will be supplied
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail is a MUST, and excellent communication skills. Eagerness to engage in a growing fast paced and industry - leading company
