About the position

The Terminal Operator has the responsibility to execute all operational and administration procedures concerning receipt, storage, transfer and shipping of petroleum products at the terminal, as per plans and according to established regulations, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the terminal.  Operations will be performed according to Valero Safety and Health Policies and guided by Valero Life-Saving Rules.  Terminal operator will engage in scheduled maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, personnel health and safety, and protection of assets and the environment.

Responsibilities

         Execute all operational steps required for the receipt, transfer and shipping of in-transit petroleum product

         Monitor terminal operations from the control room using the control system

         Ensure that operations are safely performed

         Visually inspecting terminal and rail equipment to ensure integrity

         Ensure that safety and environmental protection rules are respected

         Complete equipment preventive maintenance according to schedule to promote terminal equipment reliability

         Perform minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks as needed

        Office work including generating reports, recordkeeping.

         Professional or technical diploma in a related field, or solid handson experience in terminal or petroleum operations or industrial operation.

         Minimum 2 years of experience of relevant experience; 

         Interest in several professions and manual work outdoors;

         Ability to solve operational problems;

         Ability to work autonomously and function in a team setting;

         Inventory control and computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office and SAP;

         Experience in Terminal setting including; inventory control, marine tanker discharges, automated rack systems - Asset

Work schedule

         Rotating 12 hours shifts; day, night & weekend

         40 hours in average per week
