Job Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Control Room Operator to join our team. In this position, you will serve as the eyes and hands of our global renewable energy portfolio - overseeing the live performance of solar generation and battery storage assets spread across multiple countries and grid jurisdictions. You will work within a structured, compliance-driven environment where precision, calm under pressure, and cross-functional communication are essential.
This is a hands-on technical role with real impact on grid reliability and clean energy delivery. Key Responsibilities Real-Time Operations Use SCADA and energy management systems to track and control solar PV and BESS assets in real time across global sites. Monitor field instruments - including breakers, inverters, trackers, and meters - to verify that output and system health are within defined parameters.
Issue and receive switching orders and dispatch commands in alignment with grid operator requirements. Apply working knowledge of regional market rules when operating in jurisdictions such as CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, and various European transmission systems. Incident & Event Handling Detect and respond to curtailments, equipment derates, and unplanned outages with urgency and sound judgment.
Serve as a coordination hub between field crews, site managers, and grid operators during abnormal conditions. Contribute to post-event investigations by documenting observations and supporting root cause findings. Compliance & Security Operate in accordance with applicable NERC Reliability Standards for North American assets, including CIP, COM, TOP, PER, and PRC requirements.
Apply equivalent international standards for assets outside North America, in line with local market operator expectations. Handle Critical Cyber Assets with care and observe all physical and digital security protocols. Participate in scheduled compliance training, operational drills, and evidence preparation for regulatory audits.
Records, Reporting & Process Improvement Log events, operational data, and system anomalies accurately within the CMMS and other tracking systems. Prepare and deliver required reports to market operators, scheduling coordinators, and internal stakeholders on schedule. Flag process gaps and quality deviations, and help develop practical corrective actions in line with ISO 9001 principles.
Support the development of standardized procedures that work across regions while honoring local compliance requirements Must-Haves Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline. Prior experience in an operational, technical service, or control environment. Ability to process multiple data streams simultaneously and make sound decisions when conditions change quickly.
Clear, professional communication skills - both written and verbal - with comfort working across cultures and time zones. Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Nice to Have Hands-on experience with PV generation or battery energy storage systems.
Familiarity with NERC standards, CIP compliance, or ISO 9001 quality frameworks. Previous use of SCADA, EMS, or computerized maintenance management platforms.
