Job Description:
Summary:
The position is responsible for processing and closing SBA 7(a) and 504 loans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with internal staff including Underwriters and Business Development Officers to process and close loans in a timely manner.
  • Reviews the loan file and prepares a list of items required to close and fund the loan; communicates the requirements and loan status clearly and concisely.
  • Prepares loans for submission to the SBA for the issuance of an SBA loan number.
  • Prepares SBA loan authorizations
  • Opens Title and orders preliminary title reports as required; reviews title reports and make changes as necessary.
  • Reviews and accepts entity documentation such as articles, by-laws as well as partnership and LLC documents.
  • Reviews initial and final recorded UCC searches.
  • Ensures compliance and adherence to SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and bank credit policy.
  • Verifies cash injection in accordance with bank and SBA requirements.
  • Determines insurance requirements and obtains hazard/flood insurance as required.
  • Obtains and reviews escrow instructions and estimated closing statements.
  • Prepares and completes loan document requests; ensure that loans are documented correctly to ensure conformance with bank and SBA loan approvals and conditions.
  • Coordinates closings with borrowers, title/escrow and business development officers.
  • Reviews executed closing documents to ensure all required signatures, notaries and/or witness signatures are properly completed.
  • Prepares accurate and complete loan boarding packages.
  • Maintains accurate pipeline reports; meets monthly loan closing and loans in pipeline goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced, high volume, customer-centric environment
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and ability to demonstrate critical thinking
  • Ability to work both independently as a self-starter and in a collaborative team environment
  • Motivated and open to change

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of banking or financial services industry experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of loan closing documentation and requirements.

Computer and Software Skills:
  • Skilled in the operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Google Apps

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
  • None

Pay range for new hires is generally $32.30 - $35.32 per hour. Eligible for overtime pay in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.In addition, the role is eligible for incentive payments.
