OMNI is seeking a Senior Satellite Subsystems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support for a high-priority national security space program. The selected candidate will serve as the Government Program Officeโ€™s technical representative for one or more spacecraft subsystems, supporting system design, development, integration, testing, and mission readiness activities throughout the program lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Government, contractor, and SETA teams to ensure successful delivery of advanced space capabilities supporting critical national security missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Government Program Office focal point for assigned satellite subsystem development, integration, testing, and operational activities.
  • Participate in contractor-led Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), technical interchange meetings, and major program milestone reviews.
  • Collaborate with contractor engineering teams to assess subsystem performance, identify technical challenges, and recommend solutions that improve mission success and program execution.
  • Support Government oversight of subsystem integration and test activities, including review of test plans, test execution, test results, and requirements verification evidence.
  • Coordinate with SETA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to evaluate subsystem designs, engineering analyses, test results, and operational performance data.
  • Partner with mission engineering teams to ensure subsystem development activities support mission requirements, operational objectives, and program schedules.
  • Identify and communicate technical risks, integration challenges, verification concerns, and schedule impacts that may affect mission success or launch readiness.
  • Track subsystem development progress and provide status updates to Government leadership during mission-level, enterprise-level, and system-level reviews.
  • Support technical assessments, engineering evaluations, and decision-support activities throughout the acquisition and development lifecycle.
  • Develop expertise across multiple spacecraft subsystems to support mission operations, anomaly resolution, and spacecraft performance assessments.
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM discipline with 14 years of relevant experience; or a Masterโ€™s degree with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong systems engineering experience supporting spacecraft design, development, integration, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one spacecraft subsystem area, including Structures and Mechanisms, Electrical Power Systems, ADCS, Thermal Control Systems, C&DH, or Propulsion Systems.
  • Experience supporting spacecraft integration, preโ€‘launch testing, requirements verification, and system functionality checkout activities.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and briefing skills with the ability to engage effectively across Government, contractor, and SETA organizations.
  • Ability to work independently in a fastโ€‘paced, missionโ€‘focused environment supporting complex space systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) experience supporting Government Program Offices.
  • Six or more years of experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, NRO, U.S. Space Force, or other national security space programs as a spacecraft developer, supplier, systems engineer, or SETA representative.
  • Experience supporting multiple spacecraft subsystems or spacecraft commandโ€‘andโ€‘control (C2) operations.
  • Experience supporting satellite integration and test campaigns, launch preparation activities, mission operations, or onโ€‘orbit anomaly resolution.
  • Familiarity with Government acquisition processes, technical reviews, and systems engineering lifecycle activities.
  • Experience supporting spacecraft mission assurance, operational performance assessments, and launch readiness activities.
