General Responsibilities:

Plan and manage activities for multiple projects to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame by performing any combination of essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a qualified individual to work in the challenging area of electronic controller packaging. Said individual will work as a member of a design team and will be responsible for the design and implementation of the enclosures that contain the electronics for various electronic devices such as engine controllers, AD/ADAS controllers, transmission controllers, hybrid power inverters, battery modules, etc.

Individual will also work closely with our key customers.

  • For locally designed products, the individual will be directly working with our customer in order to make sure that all project deliverables are net.
  • For products designed at satellite offices, the individual will serve as the global communication liaison between the overseas design site and the customer.

Qualifications / Skills Required:

  • CAD and drafting expertise (2D or 3DA)
  • Mastery of GD&T and Tolerance Stacks
  • Basic FEA/CFD skills
  • Familiarity with standard automotive procedures (APQP, PPAP, DRBFM, DFMEA, Design Reviews, etc.)
  • Ability to manage, organize and plan time and projects.
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Able to work independently to achieve project completion.
  • Able to set and manage project budgets.

  • Working electrical circuit knowledge
  • Foreign Language is a plus [Spanish, French, Japanese, German in particular]
  • Working knowledge of various manufacturing techniques
    • High pressure die cast, injection molding, stamping, etc.
  • Mastery of PC and application software such as MS office

Additionally, the applicant must be able to accommodate periodic meetings before and after normal business hours as required due to the global nature of the automotive industry. Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is also required.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, MS preferred

Experience: 5-7 years of experience as a design engineer. Any experience working as a design engineer in the automotive industry is a plus.

Working conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed. The candidate will occasionally need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development.
