Job Description Job Title: Credit Risk Analyst (SAS/SQL) Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite) Type: Contract Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Credit Risk Analyst to support data-driven decision-making and process improvement initiatives within a financial services environment. This role focuses on analyzing credit risk performance, developing business requirements, and delivering actionable insights that drive portfolio strategy. The ideal candidate brings strong SAS and SQL expertise, experience working with credit or lending data, and the ability to translate complex analysis into clear business recommendations and measurable financial impact.

Key Responsibilities Analyze large datasets using SAS and SQL to evaluate credit risk trends, portfolio performance, and business outcomes Develop ROI models and financial impact analyses to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions Partner with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, translating business needs into data-driven solutions Perform ad hoc analysis to identify risk drivers, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities within credit portfolios Document current and future state processes and support implementation of process improvements Build reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk, finance, and technology to support analytics-driven initiatives Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field 3-7 years of experience in credit risk, lending, or financial analytics Strong hands-on experience with: SAS (required) SQL (required) Experience analyzing consumer credit or lending portfolios Proven ability to build financial impact or ROI analyses Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience within a banking or fintech environment Exposure to credit card or consumer lending portfolios Experience working with large datasets and portfolio-level analysis Ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively Additional Information Onsite role in San Antonio, TX Equipment will be provided No handling of confidential supervisory information (CSI)
