*US Citizenship Required*Onsite Position in Miami, FL with travel required*Position is Subject to Contract AwardPosition Overview Think Tank Inc. is seeking Biosampling Standardization Specialists to support the SEFSC at the Miami Lab. These positions lead research, development, and implementation of electronic data collection systems used in the Trip Interview Program (TIP) and are responsible for QA/QC reporting, data management, and providing training and support to TIP samplers across the region. Key Responsibilities Field Observations & QA/QCPeriodically accompany Federal and Partner TIP samplers to field sites; observe operations and assist in collection of lengths, weights, and biological samples; produce trip report within one week of each trip.Use the QA/QC reporting system in the TIPS web portal to produce quarterly reports on SEFSC TIP sampler adherence to protocols; due by 15th of third month after each quarter.Conduct biannual meetings with contract dockside samplers to discuss QA/QC results; due by end of third month after each quarter.Data Management & AnalysisWork to update and improve the SAS code underlying the QA/QC reporting tool; improvements should be implemented within 3 months of identification.Use SQL Developer to conduct reviews of historical TIP data; respond to data requests within 5 business days; deliver products within 30 days of request.Electronic Data Collection DevelopmentLead research, development, implementation, and enhancement of electronic data collection systems used in the TIP program.Work with technology vendors to research and implement viable electronic data collection methods; implement improvements within 6 months of identification.Develop training materials, technical manuals, and curricula to advance the use of electronic systems in dockside sampling; update manuals within 6 months of significant protocol changes.Provide training and support for TIP samplers; respond to support requests within 5 business days.AdministrativeComplete training courses and maintain up-to-date training annually Minimum Qualifications (Required) EducationMS Degree in Marine Science or a related field of study; OR BS Degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience.SkillsKnowledge of fish/related biological field sufficient to independently perform scientific tasks using standard methods and techniques.Proficient in the use of fish, invertebrate, and protected species identification books and keys.Computer literate; experienced with word processing, database, statistical, and graphics programs.SAS code development and SQL Developer proficiency.Capable of writing college-level reports and making oral presentations. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Experience collecting catch and effort data from commercial fishermen.Knowledge of biological sampling (lengths, age structures, gonads) from marine fish.Skill in use of Android mobile device applications for field data collection.
