Job description

Econ One is an international economic consulting firm with offices located in some of the most vital economic centers. We provide full-cycle litigation support, including comprehensive economic analysis and expert consulting services before, during, and after litigation. Our experienced economists and statisticians offer data-driven insights to develop case strategies, assess liability, quantify damages, and provide compelling evidence in court, making us trusted partners for legal counsel.

We are seeking an Analyst Intern (potential for a future permanent Analyst role) for a team working on a variety of projects involving antitrust, personal injury, merger, and employment matters. This position is temp to hire with initial hourly rate between $30-$50 and initial three-month commitment. Analysts work as part of a remote team on challenging and high-profile projects in a collegial work environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable undertaking complex data analyses. We are looking for candidates who take pride in solving complex problems, create excellent work product, and are eager to work with a great team in the fast-paced setting of litigation consulting.

Expectations

  • Conduct research and analysis efficiently, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Clean, structure, and analyze data using SAS and Stata (and Excel as needed).
  • Build damages models and clear visualizations in Excel.
  • Manage, review, and analyze case documents, maintaining strong organization and confidentiality.
  • Independently identify, gather, and document data from credible public sources.
  • Prepare concise written memoranda summarizing methods, results, and key takeaways.
  • Quality-check work product for accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility.
  • Support report and exhibit development, including drafting tables/figures and formatting to team standards.
  • Perform fact-checking and backup preparation for reports/exhibits, ensuring every statement is supported and traceable.

Requirements

  • B.A. or M.A. in Economics (or closely related field).
  • Demonstrated interest in, and experience working with, large, messy, and complex datasets.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including use of complex formulas and structured workbooks.
  • Programming experience in SAS and Stata.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to apply core statistical concepts in practice.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to present data effectively through tables, charts, and concise summaries.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a track record of seeing projects through to completion.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy, quality control, and documentation, with exceptional attention to detail.
