Overview

We are seeking a passionate HEOR/RWE Senior Data Scientist to join our growing Strategic Analytics, Value, and Economics team. In this role, you'll leverage advanced data science and health economics methods to help shape access to life-saving therapies and innovations. You'll work with rich, real-world healthcare data including Medicare and Medicaid claims to uncover insights that directly inform policy, pricing, and patient access decisions across the life sciences sector. This position offers the opportunity to apply your analytical expertise to real-world evidence (RWE), health outcomes, and market access challenges while making a measurable impact on how treatments reach the patients who need them most. 

Analytics and coding work will include health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), market basket assessment of diseases or treatment usage, and related evidence-generation studies for pharma clients.  


Job Duties


Design and execute rigorous analyses of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial healthcare claims data to generate real-world evidence supporting HEOR, value, and market access initiatives.

Design and lead claims-based RWE analyses evaluating utilization, cost, and quality impacts using CCW data in VRDC and other secure environments.

Develop and validate SAS programs to support observational studies, comparative effectiveness research, and health economic analyses.

Build and maintain analytical models and data pipelines using SAS to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and scalability of HEOR analyses.

Synthesize findings into clear, compelling insights that inform payer strategy, pricing, reimbursement, and policy decisions for life sciences clients.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and client stakeholders to align evidence generation strategies with business and scientific goals.

Developing RWE reporting systems, continuous data quality optimization, and analytics for health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) evaluation and stakeholder decision-making.

Requirements

Master's or PhD in Data Science, Biostatistics, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field

Experienced in both qualitative & quantitative research, survey design, and analyses.

At least 7 years of related experience, with SAS programming experience.

7+ years of experience (or equivalent graduate-level research experience) applying data science in healthcare, HEOR, or life sciences.

Proven ability to translate complex findings into clear, decision-ready insights to support payer strategy, value assessment, and policy making.

Demonstrated experience with large-scale health data analysis (claims, EHR, registry, or clinical trial data).

Solid understanding of health outcomes, cost analyses, and study designs used in HEOR and RWE research. 

Experience working in HEOR, value and economics outcomes research (VEOR), or real world evidence (RWE) claims experience

Extensive experience working with health care datasets and performing quantitative research


An ideal candidate may also have:

Understanding of health care policy issues in Medicare and/or Medicaid

Experience working with data offered in the CMS' Chronic Condition Warehouse

Experience working in the Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC) offered by CCW

Experience working with data in Medicare Standard Analytic Files (SAF), Research Identifiable Files (RIF), or Medicaid T-MSIS data



Location

Candidates can be based anywhere in the U.S., with a preference for those operating in the Eastern or Central Standard Time Zone. Candidates based in Washington, DC or Austin, TX, will have the option of hybrid work arrangements.



Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range is $126,000-$158,000 plus a bonus plan. This range reflects ADVI's current expectations for the role. Actual compensation may vary and will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, job related skills, experience, education, internal equity, and market considerations. The base salary range does not include bonuses, potential commission or other incentive compensation, which may be available as part of the total rewards package. Additional details regarding compensation philosophy and benefits will be shared by the recruiter during the interview process.
