Distillery Facilitator plans, coordinates, and supervises the work in areas of the Distillery that includes Fermentation, Distillation & Distillery Utilities and support the coordination of Waste Treatment Plant and Molasses Terminal, following the requirements and standards established by the Distillers Manual, global and local policies, and applicable applications. This role works on continuous improvement projects or ideas in coordination with the Team Owner and other facilitators. This role has rotary shifts during the weeks and weekends. Being a Distillery Facilitator is:

ROLE PURPOSE

The Distillery Facilitator leads, coordinates, and owns the operational performance of the assigned shift across Fermentation, Distillation, and Distillery Utilities, while supporting the coordination of the Waste Treatment Plant and Molasses Terminal. The role is accountable for delivering safe, reliable, efficient, and quality-compliant operations in accordance with the Distillers Manual, global and local policies, established procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Distillery Facilitator is expected to proactively identify performance gaps, make data-driven operational decisions, develop team capabilities, and drive continuous improvement in coordination with the Team Owner, other Facilitators, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and supporting functions. This position works rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Coordinate and supervise daily jobs, determine staffing needs, assign jobs to meet production needs.
  • Prepare daily reports of the situations that occurred during the shift, including Performance calculations, efficiencies, decisions made and other metrics (Safety Trigger, KPI's CL, CIL).
  • Review the parameters and operational data collected by the operators and make the necessary adjustments to correct any deviations.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the tasks described in the documented procedures and work instructions applicable to their functions.
  • Maintain inventory of acid, caustic, molasses, and any other industrial material.
  • Coordinate the maintenance work and any other work that arises using the identified systems (eg WO, SAP) with the Maintenance Department.
  • Development and implementation of improvement projects using Lean and continuous improvement tools.
  • Prepare attendance reports and maintain record of hours worked.
  • Authorize overtime work and administer discipline.
  • Identify operational training needs (SOP's) and coordinate them.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and quality standards in operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with the standards and procedures of Environmental, health, safety, management, and policies established by the company.
  • Lead shift execution and own performance against Safety, Quality, Production, Yield, Efficiency, Cost, and Environmental targets.
  • Coordinate staffing and daily activities, establish priorities, assign responsibilities, and ensure resources are effectively deployed to achieve the production plan.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance, including fermentation performance, distillation efficiency, alcohol recovery, yield, utility consumption, quality parameters, downtime, and other critical process KPIs.
  • Review operational parameters and data collected by operators, identify trends and deviations, determine potential causes, and implement timely corrective actions to restore process performance.
  • Prepare and communicate shift performance reports, including production results, efficiencies, performance calculations, Safety Triggers, CL/CIL KPIs, significant events, decisions made, deviations, corrective actions, and outstanding risks.
  • Own an effective shift handover, ensuring clear communication of equipment status, process conditions, quality concerns, maintenance priorities, safety risks, and required follow-up actions.
  • Ensure compliance with documented procedures, SOPs, work instructions, quality standards, environmental requirements, and company policies.
  • Exercise sound operational judgment and escalates or stops activities when Safety, Quality, Environmental, equipment integrity, or business continuity may be compromised.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory and consumption control of molasses, acid, caustic, process chemicals, and other industrial materials, identifying abnormal consumption or potential shortages.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities through established systems such as SAP and Work Orders, prioritize equipment issues based on operational and production risk, and ensure appropriate follow-up through completion.
  • Lead structured problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for operational deviations, recurring failures, quality events, production losses, and process inefficiencies.
  • Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement opportunities using Lean, problem-solving, and data-analysis tools, with measurable improvements in Safety, Quality, Yield, Reliability, Cost, or Productivity.
  • Challenge existing operating practices and identify opportunities to optimize fermentation, distillation, utility consumption, process stability, and overall distillery performance.
  • Prepare attendance reports, maintain accurate records of hours worked, authorize overtime according to operational needs, and administer discipline consistently with company policies.
  • Coach, develop, and hold operators accountable for performance.
  • Identify technical and operational competency gaps and coordinate required SOP and process training.
  • Promote operator ownership by ensuring team members understand not only what to do, but how their actions impact Safety, Quality, Yield, Efficiency, Cost, and overall distillery performance.
  • Build a high-performance shift culture based on accountability, urgency, teamwork, operational discipline, continuous learning, and effective communication.
  • Collaborate effectively with other Facilitators and departments to ensure consistent operating standards, priorities, and expectations across shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Lean Manufacturing and Process Supervisor.
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Management systems: ISO 9001, 45000, 14001, 22000 and Control Systems
