Job description

This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners.

Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.
Agentic AI and large language models are shaping how enterprise software gets built, deployed, and operated at scale. We're hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead that charge, architecting AI-driven solutions that reshape how partners like SAP run mission-critical workloads on AWS. This role demands a self-starter mindset, rapid experimentation, and expertise in partner ecosystems, ideal for engineers who love learning, challenging norms, and building prototypes that ship.
The AI & Strategic Partner Engineering team builds deep integrations between AWS and strategic partners, creating seamless interoperability that accelerates time-to-market for joint customers

We're expanding across Agentic AI, LLM-powered workflows, distributed systems, security, and emerging AWS services, pioneering collaborative AI agent patterns that turn weeks of integration work into days. A wave of innovation is revolutionizing partner ecosystems through AI-driven automation, secure architectures, and elastic scalability, reshaping how global enterprises deploy and operate cloud solutions.
Key job responsibilities
You'll define the technical direction for your team, own architectural decisions, and drive cross-team alignment in a fast-paced, high-velocity environment, building partner-driven solutions alongside skillful builders, senior engineers, and architects. You'll design and deliver mission-critical integrations between partners (like SAP) and AWS-native services spanning Agentic AI, LLM workflows, distributed systems, security, databases, and emerging AWS services, enabling seamless data flow, identity management, and compliance for global enterprises.
You'll architect AI-augmented SDLC patterns, collaborate with AI agents to rapidly prototype and validate solutions, and own full-stack delivery from design through production, emphasizing high availability, performance, and customer delight

You'll build detailed technical specifications, master diverse domains, and turn ambiguity into shipped products. You'll mentor junior engineers, partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Security, AI Research), influence roadmaps through data and credibility, and represent your team externally to partner service teams and leadership. All team members actively participate in product definition, architecture reviews, iterative development, code review, and operations.

Clear, professional communication with teammates, customers, and partners is essential.
A day in the life
You'll identify partner pain points and make architectural decisions that blend scalability, security, and AI innovation. You'll rapidly prototype solutions using AI agents, validate them through load testing, and drive cross-team alignment with partner service teams. You'll mentor engineers through design reviews, troubleshoot complex distributed failures, and document decisions to empower future teams

Occasional travel may be required based on engineering work requirements with partners.
