Job description

Contract Details
- Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week; may change based on business needs)
- Location: Herndon, VA or Newtown Square, PA
- Schedule: 40 hours/week
- Duration: 12 months (target start 2026-08-03; target end 2027-08-02)
- Conversion: Potential contract-to-hire after ~6 months
- Work Authorization: US citizenship required; dual citizenship not permitted

About the Opportunity
This role administers and supports enterprise data platforms and databases to ensure availability, security, performance, and compliance. You will manage role-based access, backups/recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting across traditional RDBMS environments and modern SAP analytics platforms.
You will also administer SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Cloud, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for enterprise reporting and analytics overseeing user access, spaces/connections, governance, performance, and platform support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data security and privacy: Implement and maintain role-based access controls; protect sensitive information; maintain security documentation, access records, and audit support; administer roles/permissions in SAP Datasphere and SAC.
  • Performance optimization: Monitor database/platform performance; tune queries and optimize configurations; recommend improvements; support SAC performance and usability for analytics/dashboards.
  • User support and collaboration: Assist analysts/developers with integration and schema design; support connectivity between source systems and analytics platforms; provision, troubleshoot, and resolve issues for SAP Datasphere and SAC users; collaborate to improve data quality and consistency.
  • SAP Datasphere/HANA Cloud/SAC administration: Manage spaces, connections, access controls, and governance; support data integration (SAP and non-SAP); assist with data modeling and semantic layer; administer SAC users/roles/teams and security; support SAC stories, models, dashboards, and planning; monitor usage and troubleshoot access/connectivity/performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience administering relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or similar.
  • Experience or strong familiarity with SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Cloud, and SAP Analytics Cloud administration.
  • Knowledge of database administration principles and best practices (installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, and recovery).
  • Understanding of role-based security, data governance, privacy, and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and query optimization; experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with SAP data and analytics technologies.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based data platforms.
  • Familiarity with data integration tools and enterprise reporting environments.
  • Relevant certifications in database, SAP, or cloud technologies.

Work Environment
