Senior Application Analyst (SAP ABAP)


Location: Madison, WI (Onsite 4 days/week)


Duration: 6 month contract


Start Date: Late June 2026


Overview:


We are seeking a Senior Application Analyst with strong SAP ABAP expertise to support complex development, integration, and system enhancement efforts. This role will focus on designing, developing, and optimizing SAP solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams on large-scale initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop custom solutions using ABAP Objects, including classes, interfaces, and ALV reporting

  • Build and maintain SAP Data Dictionary objects (tables, domains, data elements, search helps)

  • Develop and support integrations using ALE, REST APIs, OData, CPI, CPI-DS, or SAP BTP tools

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and reprocess IDocs and support custom IDoc/workflow development

  • Apply SAP Notes and support system upgrades (SPAU/SPDD)

  • Perform performance tuning using Runtime Analysis, SQL Trace, and Code Inspector

  • Develop CDS views and work within Eclipse/ADT environments

  • Support SAP Fiori development initiatives

  • Manage batch jobs and monitor jobs using SM37

  • Implement and manage locking mechanisms via lock objects

  • Collaborate across teams and lead efforts on complex technical projects


Required Qualifications:



  • Strong experience with ABAP Objects (inheritance, polymorphism, events, dynamic programming, RTTS)

  • Hands-on experience with SAP Data Dictionary and enhancement techniques (user exits, BAdIs)

  • Experience with system integrations (ALE, APIs, OData, CPI/BTP)

  • Proven experience working with IDocs, troubleshooting, and reprocessing

  • Familiarity with SAP authorization objects

  • Experience supporting system upgrades and SAP Notes

  • Strong knowledge of performance tuning tools

  • Experience with CDS views and Eclipse/ADT

  • Exposure to SAP Fiori development

  • Understanding of batch job scheduling (SM37)

  • Experience working on cross-functional projects and leading technical efforts


Nice to Have:



  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries

  • Familiarity with Coupa to SAP integrations
