Description

The Garden Segment is hiring a Sr. Accountant on the Accounting team based in Madison, GA. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and ensuring the timely completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. This position prepares journal entries, reconciles balance sheet accounts, analyzes financial results, and supports financial reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform monthly closing activities, including analysis of accounts and preparation of complex journal entries
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and complete analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure the accuracy and validity of transactions
  • Provide support and guidance to the Business Unit Operations and the Finance team to identify and recommend cost savings or improvements
  • Prepare special projects as requested by management
  • Provide support in both the external and SOX audits
  • Assist with establishing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures
  • Assist in the preparation of 10Q and 10K schedules

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks as well as problem solve with the ability to work independently

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA or CMA a plus
  • 3 to 4+ years’ experience in general ledger accounting; manufacturing industry or CPG company a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s), SAP or comparable ERP system strongly preferred, Hyperion a plus
