Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior SAP Technical Specialist with strong functional expertise in SAP Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), and Plant Maintenance (PM). The role will lead Tier-2/3 SAP functional support for MAKE business processes, own production incident and change resolution, ensure knowledge transfer, and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have strong functional configuration skills, hands-on process knowledge, and cross-module integration experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the IT Application team providing S/4HANA functional support for business teams on production issues within Production Planning and Execution, Quality Management, and Plant Maintenance.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and operations to understand requirements and resolve issues.
• Provide functional expertise in troubleshooting support incidents and service requests while ensuring resolutions meet defined SLAs.
• Coordinate with business, product, development, integration, and Basis teams to resolve complex issues.
• Monitor application and integration errors and maintain strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA messaging and AIF monitoring frameworks.
• Proactively detect, triage, and route application and integration issues.
• Review developed solutions and incoming enhancements before production deployment.
• Ensure support teams receive continuous knowledge transfer and maintain updated runbooks.
• Mentor and coach junior consultants.
• Organize formal knowledge-transfer sessions and maintain the knowledge base.
• Drive root-cause analysis (RCA) and permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Track and report problem-management actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain oversight of change and transport processes.
• Ensure appropriate rollback and mitigation plans are established for production risks.
• Participate in workshops and prepare and review functional specifications.
• Guide technical teams on functional design and conversion of business requirements into solutions.
• Lead or support system testing, UAT, cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities.

Required Qualifications

• 8 12 years of SAP experience with 3+ full-cycle implementations in PP, QM, and PM.
• Proven hands-on SAP production support experience.
• Strong experience in at least two of the following functional areas:
  • Production Planning (PP)
  • Quality Management (QM)
  • Plant Maintenance (PM)
• Deep understanding of the production order lifecycle, including:
  • Order types
  • Number ranges
  • Release and confirmation profiles
  • Settlement rules
  • Material master
  • MRP and Work Scheduling
  • Bills of Material (BOMs)
  • Routings
  • Production versions
  • MRP types
  • Lot sizing
  • Planning strategies
  • MRP Live
• Experience integrating SAP with MM, QM, FI/CO, EWM, and MES.
• Understanding of procurement, inspection lots, usage decisions, settlement postings, and common interfaces.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and analyzing MD04 and MRP logs.
• Experience with incident triage, root-cause analysis, problem management, and SLA-driven application support.
• Practical understanding of integration points with MM, SD, and FICO.
• Experience working with API interfaces and other internal and external applications.
• Strong client-facing communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across business and technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Exposure to or experience with SAP Fiori applications.
• Knowledge of Clean Core implementation approaches.
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, or other ALM tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices.
• Familiarity with other cross-functional SAP areas.
• Experience working closely with SAP development teams.
• Experience with S/4HANA conversions and migrations.
• Knowledge of embedded analytics, CDS views, and S/4HANA reporting.
• Understanding of ABAP debugging and ability to read logs and traces.
• Experience with automated testing and test-case management tools such as Jira X-Ray, Worksoft, or HP ALM.

Education

• Bachelor of Technology / Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.
