Description:

 Director Business Applications oversees the strategy, implementation, and management of an organization's SAP systems, aligning technology with business goals to improve operational efficiency. They lead SAP teams, manage budgets, and act as a liaison between IT and executive stakeholders to drive digital transformation, such as S/4HANA migrations 

Requirements:
  • Strategic Planning: Defines the SAP roadmap and        strategy to enhance business processes, ensuring alignment with        organizational objectives. Develop core implementation        deliverables, including solution designs, configuration documentation,        test scripts, cutover inputs, deployment readiness materials, and        training support artifacts.
  • Leadership & Team        Management:        Leads, mentors, and develops SAP teams, project managers, and functional        consultants. Facilitate client workshops to define future-state        business processes, document requirements, support fit-to-standard        decisions, and promote adoption of SAP leading practices and process        standardization.
  • Project Governance: Oversees SAP        implementations, upgrades, and support projects, ensuring delivery        within budget and timelines. Support functional delivery for        large-scale SAP S/4HANA modernization programs, driving day-to-day        workstream execution from design through testing, deployment, and        post-go-live stabilization.
  • Partner with        integration and data teams to coordinate interface requirements,        validate data migration readiness, and support accurate, controlled        movement of data across systems and environments.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborates with executive leadership        (C-suite) and business stakeholders to identify needs and communicate        project status.
  • Vendor & Budget Management: Negotiates with external vendors, manages        service contracts, and manages the overall SAP budget.
  • Technical Guidance: Provides expertise on SAP modules,        architecture, and system integration, staying updated on new        technologies like S/4HANA. 

In addition:

· Support unit, system   integration, and user acceptance testing by preparing scenarios, tracing   requirements, documenting defects, coordinating fixes, and helping drive   business sign-off.

  • Help embed ERP        controls, audit readiness, and compliance considerations into design,        testing, cutover, and post-production activities.
  • Coordinate and support        deployment and go-live readiness activities, including cutover planning        inputs, reconciliation tasks, issue resolution, training support, and        early-life stabilization.
  • Collaborate across        functional, technical, and program teams to deliver secure, scalable SAP        solutions in regulated government settings, with flexibility to travel        as needed to support client delivery.
  • Experience: Generally 7–10+ years of SAP experience, including extensive      experience in SAP implementation, project management, and leadership      roles.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information      Technology, or Business Administration.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SAP modules (e.g.,      FICO, MM, SD) and implementation methodologies.
  • Skills: Strong communication, strategic thinking, team leadership, and change management skills.
