Job description

Overview
Are you someone who is passionate, motivated, and driven to make a difference? If so, MSA Safety is the perfect fit for your career.
At MSA, SAFETY is who we are AND it is what we do. We are a purpose-driven company committed to deploying innovation and technology to deliver on our Mission to help protect people and assets all around the world. We continue to be relentless in our pursuit of solving our customers greatest problems so they can go home safe each and every day.
Are you in? Read on for more details about this particular role.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end subscription-to-revenue solution architecture: run Fit-to-Standard / explore-phase workshops, drive Key Design Decisions, and produce solution and RICEFW documentation aligned to SAP Activate methodology.
  • Configure RAR on S/4HANA - revenue accounting contracts, performance obligations (POBs), BRFplus decision tables, account determination, and posting logic for point-in-time and over-time recognition - as part of the ECC-to-S/4HANA conversion.
  • Architect the SAP Subscription Billing solution (cloud, on SAP BTP): rate plans and pricing, subscription lifecycle, usage rating/metering, and bill creation for recurring, one-time, usage/consumption-based, and tiered models.
  • Design the integration between SAP Subscription Billing and S/4HANA - billing/invoice data flowing into Convergent Invoicing (FI-CA) and/or SD billing, and onward into RAR - using SAP Integration Suite / API-based (iFlow) patterns; define the BTP integration and data architecture.
  • Lead fit-gap analysis on complex subscription and revenue scenarios - multi-element/bundled software-plus-service deals, ramp deals, mid-term upgrades/downgrades and proration, cancellations and credits, usage overages, and contract modifications under ASC 606.
  • Design the inflight-contract transition and initial-load strategy; define the migration approach for revenue data moving off ECC, and the onboarding/migration approach for active subscriptions into SAP Subscription Billing.
  • Ensure RAR sub-ledger reconciliation with FI-GL and COPA, and reconciliation between Subscription Billing, invoicing (CI/FI-CA), and revenue; validate G/L postings with accounting teams and support disclosure and reporting needs.
  • Direct integration, regression, and UAT testing across the S/4HANA and BTP landscape; lead cutover, go-live, and hypercare, including high-volume order, subscription, and usage-data conversion validation.
  • Own the solution post-go-live: lead support, period-close and billing-cycle support, enhancements, and SAP release/upgrade impact assessments (including the cloud release cadence of Subscription Billing), and maintain solution documentation and governance.
  • Manage and direct system integrator (SI) resources, coordinate with internal functional/configuration teams, and partner with internal audit, external auditors, and controllership on ongoing compliance and revenue policy changes.

Qualifications
  • Hands-on SAP RAR configuration experience across full-lifecycle implementations and/or ECC-to-S/4HANA conversions; relevant SAP certifications (RAR, SD/FI) preferred.
  • Experience implementing or integrating SAP Subscription Billing (the standalone cloud product on BTP), including rate plans, usage rating, and the S/4HANA integration pattern; familiarity with Convergent Invoicing (FI-CA) as the landing point is an asset.
  • Deep IFRS 15 / ASC 606 revenue recognition expertise as applied to subscription and multi-element arrangements, including transition and initial-load strategies.
  • Strong command of BRFplus, ARL, and RAI-based integration between billing and RAR.
  • Working knowledge of SAP BTP and SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration / iFlows, APIs) for cloud-to-S/4HANA integration.
  • Proven OTC/QTC and order/subscription-management architecture experience (pricing, account determination, Fiori) feeding billing and revenue.
  • Preferred experience with SAP ECC to S/4 HANA migration or full life cycle S/4 HANA Implementation and support.
  • Fluency in SAP Activate deliverables by phase and in cutover discipline (freeze windows, mock cycles, reconciliation gates, go/no-go).
  • RAR / event-based revenue recognition exposure for subscriptions.
  • Familiarity with S/4HANA Private Cloud (RISE) deployment and SAP Activate; FI-GL and COPA integration knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead internal teams and SI partners, and to bridge technical and accounting/business audiences.

Education and experience required:
This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience:
  • Level I: 2 years IT or related business process experience
  • Level II: 3 years IT or related business process experience and 2 years SAP configuration experience in the SD modules
  • Level III: 5 years IT or related Sales and Distribution business process experience and 5 years SAP configuration experience in SD modules

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or related discipline.
