Job description

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Sr. SAP Manager to lead the Digital Transformation, architecture and implementation a very large global greenfield SAP S/4HANA instance.

We are the leading Global Biotech Company in our niche and are looking for a Sr. SAP Manager. We have been in business for 50+ years, are publicly traded, have 7+K global employees, recognized $6.6 billion in revenues (7% increase over previous year), $153 million in profits (32% increase over previous year), have 750+ product patents, released 6 new products in in the past year and are an active philanthropic institution.

We are executing a ground-up greenfield implementation of SAP S/4HANA on the SAP Cloud, Private Edition on RISE. The Sr. SAP Manager will be responsible for leading the Digital Transformation from the legacy on-premise SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 8 to a modern S/4HANA Cloud landscape. This role oversees the end-to-end technical strategy, ensuring a “Clean Core” architecture. Specifically the Sr. SAP Manager will:

Technical & Enterprise Architecture Direction

  • S/4HANA Greenfield Migration: Lead technical decision-making and execution for global S/4HANA Greenfield transformation programs.
  • Enterprise Architecture & Data Governance: Lead and guide the Sr. SAP Solutions Architect in the end-to-end system architecture design, data governance, and integration strategies to ensure a "Clean Core" environment while minimizing custom code to prevent technical debt.
  • Application Portfolio Management: Drive the evaluation, integration, and performance of internal and third-party enterprise software platforms.
  • ECC Maintenance & Evolution: Oversee ongoing SAP enhancements, security, validation, and stability across the legacy ECC environment during SAP S/4HANA cloud migration phases.

Management and Organizational Leadership

  • Team Leadership: Directly manage, coach, and develop a high-performing 30-person organization comprising a Senior SAP Solutions Architect, SAP Leads, SAP Functional Analysts and Developers and Program Directors.
  • Strategic Alignment & DX Planning: Partner with global executive leadership to define long-range ERP strategy, annual digital transformation initiatives, and organizational change management plans.
  • Portfolio & Resource Operations: Oversee project delivery, team allocations, operating budgets, and internal processes using Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Governance & Vendor Management: Establish IT operational policies, direct third-party vendor relationships, lead contract negotiations, and manage financial performance for the application portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong, collaborative relationships across global business units to address enterprise needs and drive technology adoption.

The Sr. SAP Manager reports to the Global VP of Digital Transformation.

Requirements:

  • Must have 10+ years of total SAP experience with at 6+ years’ of SAP Management experience.
  • Must have lead at least 1 full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation on a cloud platform, (Public or Private).
  • Must have the technical competence and previous experience designing and creating complex technical SAP S/4HANA architectures and translate into business-focused ROI narratives for C-Suite stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage distributed functional and technical teams during ERP Digital Transformation periods.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
