SAP FICO Specialist (Direct Hire)

Location: Cleveland, OH | Akron, OH | Irvine, CA (Onsite – Any Location)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens only

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP FICO Specialist (Finance & Controlling) to join our client’s Digital & IT team. The ideal candidate will be an SAP functional subject matter expert (SME) with strong experience in Finance, Controlling, and Project Systems within SAP ECC 6.0 and/or S/4HANA environments.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the SAP solutions align with the organization’s global SAP template and meet business requirements across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SAP FICO SME, advising on system capabilities and best practices.

  • Lead requirements gathering through interviews, workshops, and business process reviews.

  • Translate business needs into detailed SAP configurations and solution designs.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, developers, and SAP application teams to deliver scalable and compliant SAP solutions.

  • Design, document, and deploy Finance and Controlling components, ensuring cross-functional integration (e.g., Procurement, Production Planning).

  • Manage SAP process improvements and enhancements aligned with business goals.

  • Support end-to-end SAP implementation lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and support.

  • Provide ongoing system and process optimization recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5+ years of SAP FICO functional experience including full-cycle implementations.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), and Management Accounting modules.

  • Strong expertise in SAP configuration, customization, and RICEFW objects.

  • Solid understanding of integration points with other SAP modules (MM, PP, PS, etc.).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to travel as needed and provide after-hours support when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Exposure to SAP template/global rollout projects.

  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Finance.

  • Working knowledge of compliance frameworks (DFARS, ITAR, Data Protection).
