Job description

Sterlite Technologies Inc. (STI), a U.S. subsidiary of STL is hiring for Electronic Technician role in US.


TITLE: Electronic Technician (Offroll)


PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Electronic Techโ€™s primary responsibility is to preserve the excellent condition and functionality of the equipment and facility. Duties include PLC, VFD and PID troubleshooting, electrical and electronic repairs, maintaining and developing equipment improvements and solving daily manufacturing equipment issues, as well as conducting quality assessments.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Knowledge and solid understanding of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), variable frequency drives, motors, encoders, electromechanical systems, and electronic sensors of all types.
  • Work closely with mechanical maintenance personnel during breakdowns and improvement projects.
  • Ability to read and use schematics, manuals, technical drawings, work orders, etc.
  • Excellent electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
  • Maintain and create procedures and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge of the processes and materials utilized in the manufacture of products in the cable industry.
  • Develop and maintain a level of professionalism in verbal and written communication with internal and external customers/suppliers.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the direct supervisor and engineering management.
  • Under the direction of the supervisor, be available to work overtime assignments as required to fulfill the position requirements and responsibilities.
  • Participate in and lead continuous improvement.
  • Communicate shift-to-shift information to the manufacturing technician on the following shift.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • High School Diploma Required.
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language (i.e., the language of all plant directives) for required document control.
  • Knowledge of SAP & MS Office a plus
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate and show quality of work.
  • Preferred self-motivation, self-starter, and highly organizational skills.
