Materion is seeking a highly accomplished IT SAP Senior Manager to lead global SAP enterprise projects, drive end‑to‑end digital transformation, and oversee Master Data Management, Application Management Services (AMS), and SAP program delivery across all regions. This role is central to Materion’s multi‑year SAP modernization strategy and will directly influence how our global business scales, harmonizes processes, and leverages data for operational excellence. As the strategic owner of Materion’s SAP ecosystem, this leader will guide the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA in future, ensuring a seamless transformation across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and commercial operations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience leading large‑scale SAP transformations, including global template design, system consolidation, data readiness, and modernization through new SAP capabilities and embedded analytics. The role will champion enterprise‑level SAP performance by strengthening AMS delivery, improving master data accuracy, and ensuring high system reliability. This includes establishing clear, measurable KPIs aligned to system stability, ticket reduction, master data quality, and transformation milestones. With a light emphasis on ABAP governance, this position ensures that development aligns with long‑term maintainability and strategic architecture standards rather than hands‑on coding.

You Will Have an Opportunity to

• Global SAP Program Leadership
  • Lead enterprise‑wide SAP programs from design through implementation and hyper care.
  • Define program scope, resource needs, timelines, risks, communications, and delivery milestones.
  • Partner with business stakeholders globally to ensure SAP solutions align with evolving business needs.
  • Drive organizational change, training readiness, documentation, and adoption.
• Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead Master Data Leads, SAP Program Leads, and cross‑functional IT team members.
  • Promote SAP knowledge‑sharing, global collaboration, and high‑performance team culture.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and lead SAP functional consultants and cross‑functional teams, fostering knowledge sharing, skill development.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members as needed.
  • Manage team’s performance to consistently deliver SAP Functional and Technical Support.
• Project and Program Delivery (as needed)
  • ABAP development standards, code quality, performance optimization, and design alignment.
  • Provide functional support in areas like Procure to Pay, Plant to Produce and order to cash etc., as needed for programs.
  • Oversee technical review boards and ensure solution architecture consistency.
• Master Data Management
  • Own global MDM strategy across materials, customers, vendors, BOMs, routings, pricing, plant data, and operational structures.
  • Establish and manage master data governance, standards, workflows, and quality controls.
  • Improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across ECC/S4, IBP, and other enterprise applications and integrated systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across regions for process alignment and governance compliance.
• AMS (Application Management Services) Governance & Performance
  • Serve as the primary IT leader overseeing Materion’s SAP AMS service providers.
  • Establish SLAs, performance KPIs, ticket prioritization models, escalation paths, and monthly/quarterly business reviews.
  • Monitor AMS delivery quality across incidents, service requests, enhancements, and problem management.
  • Ensure AMS partners follow internal governance frameworks like ITAR, CUI standards, SAP best practices, and secure development protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement in SAP operations, system stability using AI tools and techniques for ticket reduction, and better user experience.
  • Collaborate with internal IT and business teams to validate AMS solutions and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
• Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders in manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and operations to gather requirements and translate them into comprehensive SAP solution blueprints.
  • Consistently communicate to the business and IT stakeholders on an ongoing basis in regard to tickets, projects or any other initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of SAP functional experience with a strong focus on program management, master data management and SAP development.
• Expertise in some of the functional modules like SAP PP, MM and WM etc.
• Proven track record of leading SAP manufacturing implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as production planning, shop floor control, quality management, and maintenance.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to engage cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
• SAP certification(s) in relevant manufacturing modules is a plus.
• Six Sigma green belt is preferred.
• Demonstrated mastery of Master Data Management for global organizations.
• Experience managing or overseeing SAP AMS partners and service delivery models.
