At the heart of our business is a belief in great products and the magic of innovation. Our mission is to bring fun to every household, which we achieve through teamwork and clever collaboration.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced QC & Compliance Manager to lead quality control, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and material release activities within our manufacturing operation in Norristown, PA.
This is a mid-to-senior-level management position responsible for both hands-on quality leadership and the day-to-day management and development of the quality team. The ideal candidate brings a strong manufacturing background, prior people management experience, and demonstrated success leading quality processes in a production environment.
Reporting to the Product Integrity team, this role is responsible for ensuring raw materials, production processes, and finished products meet company quality requirements and applicable global regulatory standards while supporting production and shipping schedules. The QC & Compliance Manager will oversee the Quality Management System (QMS), material and finished goods release, CAPA and nonconformance processes, internal audits, supplier quality, quality reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Success in this role requires someone who can balance rigorous quality and compliance requirements with the realities of a fast-paced manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be comfortable making decisions, managing competing priorities, developing employees, partnering with production leadership, and driving accountability across quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Manufacturing Operations
  • Lead day-to-day quality activities within the Norristown manufacturing operation.
  • Coordinate the release of raw materials and finished products against production and shipping schedules while maintaining required quality and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate traceability and documentation of raw materials, production lots, testing results, and finished product status.
  • Partner closely with Production, Supply Chain, Shipping, Warehouse, R&D, and Product Integrity to resolve quality issues and prevent unnecessary production delays.
  • Provide quality leadership and decision-making support when production, material, or finished product issues arise.
  • Ensure chemical compounding and manufacturing processes are supported by appropriate quality controls, documentation, and testing requirements.
Quality Management Systems & Continuous Improvement
  • Own and maintain QMS documentation and quality assurance processes supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation to support operational consistency, laboratory compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Lead investigations into nonconformances, quality failures, and recurring product issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs and provide regular reporting to leadership on quality performance, risks, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
  • Organize and lead internal quality audits and ensure timely resolution of identified findings.
Regulatory & Global Compliance
  • Ensure products consistently meet applicable company standards and global regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and communicate regulatory developments, trends, and risks that may impact products or manufacturing processes.
  • Support the global quality compliance program across markets including the U.S., EU, UK, Asia, Middle East, and Australia/New Zealand.
  • Serve as a quality and technical liaison to overseas QA teams, transferring QA/QC knowledge, testing requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Ensure overseas manufactured products conform to established company quality and testing requirements.
Supplier & Customer Quality
  • Partner with vendors and contract manufacturers to ensure raw materials, components, and finished products meet established specifications.
  • Communicate supplier nonconformances and drive timely investigation, corrective action, and resolution.
  • Evaluate customer complaints, product feedback, and quality nonconformities to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address quality issues that may affect customers, production, or product availability.
Team Leadership & People Management
  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop members of the quality team.
  • Manage workload distribution, priorities, performance expectations, and day-to-day team activities.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and technical guidance to team members.
  • Develop team capabilities and ensure employees are appropriately trained on quality procedures, testing requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the quality function.
  • Effectively communicate priorities, risks, and quality expectations to both frontline employees and senior leadership.

Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Quality, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field OR 5+ years of progressive quality management experience in toy manufacturing, consumer products, chemical manufacturing/compounding, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated quality experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Prior people management experience, including direct responsibility for supervising, coaching, and developing employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a quality function or team and manage competing operational priorities.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), SOP development, document control, and audit readiness.
  • Experience leading internal quality audits.
  • Experience managing CAPA, nonconformance, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality controls, material traceability, and product release processes.
  • Experience analyzing quality data, identifying trends, and developing meaningful KPIs and management reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across production, technical, operational, and leadership teams.
  • Ability to work onsite in Norristown, PA five days per week.
Preferred
