This position will support Love's Alternative Energy and is based onsite at Love's Corporate Headquarters in Houston, Texas.
 

Welcome to Love's:As a BI Developer III for Loves, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of reporting/analytical solutions to meet business needs. Working under the BI Supervisor, the candidate will be responsible for developing state of the art, enterprise-class reporting solutions that are supportable and scalable. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to collaborate and effectively work with other IT and business teams throughout the planning, designing, testing, and implementation phases. Strong communication skills are also required when dealing with internal and external parties, including vendors and business partners. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work with business units to refine requirements to enhancements and new report requests 

  • Work effectively within a team oriented environment 

  • Maintain a customer-focused attitude 

  • Ensure design and development standards are current and being followed 

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives concurrently 

  • Create complex reporting solutions for multiple business areas 

  • Develop scalable solutions to meet business needs 

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex ETL processes 

  • Create technical documentation 

  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability to business intelligence use cases 

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to BI Developer I and II team members, including conducting peer reviews, recommending alternative design approaches, and promoting best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. 

  • Other duties assigned as needed 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Required Experience: 

  • Fundamental understanding of database concepts 

  • Fundamental understanding of ETL concepts 

  • Fundamental understanding of data warehousing concepts 

  • Power BI experience 

  • Traditional Power BI Reports 

  • Paginated Reports 

  • SQL - including DDL and DML statements 

  • Preferred Experience: 

  • Snowflake experience 

  • Exposure to, and willingness to learn SAP Hana/BDC 

  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or Jira 

  • Power Automate 

  • Exposure to, and willingness to learn SQL Server Reporting Services 

  • Leverage AI-driven tools (eg., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) to accelerate data product delivery, reduce defects, enhance automation, and improve consistency across the DataOps lifecycle. 

  • Education: 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business with MIS or technology related degree (C.S.) 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Skills: 

  • Ability to manage numerous competing demands, in a fast-paced environment 

  • Must be a self-motivated and require minimal supervision, with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Extensive experience in Software development methodologies 

  • Typical Physical Demands:
