Summary

The Senior SAP Basis and Security Administrator is critical in delivering consistent, high-performance SAP systems and applications that support business operations across the enterprise. This role is responsible for architecting SAP technical solutions, implementing and supporting SAP applications and infrastructure, and monitoring system performance and utilization to ensure reliability and scalability. The Senior SAP Basis and Security Administrator partners closely with Functional, Middleware, Development, and Security teams to ensure secure and stable system upgrades, code migrations, integrations, and performance monitoring. This role manages multiple projects concurrently and serves as a key player in day-to-day systems operations supporting all areas of the business.

Essential Functions
  • SAP Basis Administration & System Operations
    • Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and support SAP systems, databases, and operating systems, including Solution Manager, ECC, Fiori, GRC, and related platforms
    • Architect SAP technical solutions that support business operations and long-term system scalability
    • Perform system refreshes and database copies, apply SAP notes, and deploy support packs, kernel upgrades, and version upgrades
    • Monitor system performance and utilization, and manage SAP licenses to ensure optimal, cost-effective operations
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while supporting day-to-day systems operations across all business areas
  • Security & User Administration
    • Design and develop user security, roles, and authorization concepts across the SAP landscape
    • Collaborate with Functional, Middleware, Development, and Security teams to ensure secure and stable system upgrades, code migrations, and integrations
    • Administer and maintain SAP GRC access controls to support segregation of duties and least-privilege principles
    • Investigate and remediate security incidents, access violations, and audit findings within SAP environments
  • Backup, Recovery & Business Continuity
    • Develop and oversee execution of backup, restore, business continuity, and disaster recovery procedures for SAP technologies
    • Test and validate disaster recovery plans on a regular basis to ensure system resilience and minimal downtime
  • Governance, Compliance & Audit Support
    • Establish IT governance controls and change management processes to ensure optimal system performance and stability
    • Support IT audit activities, analyze results, and provide remediation to improve compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements within SAP systems infrastructure and architecture
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain documentation on system landscape architecture, configurations, maintenance processes, and schedules
    • Stay current on SAP Basis and security technologies, tools, and best practices
    • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Five (5) or more years of experience managing SAP technologies as an SAP Basis Administrator in a medium- or large-size organization
  • Hands-on experience with SAP security administration, including roles, authorizations, and access controls
  • Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading SAP systems such as Solution Manager, ECC, Fiori, and GRC
  • Experience developing and executing backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for SAP environments
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimum supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and obligations
Preferred
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Basis administration and technical architecture
  • Experience with SAP GRC Access Control and broader security architecture
  • Experience supporting IT audits and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., SOX)
  • SAP certifications in Basis, Security, or a related discipline
  • Experience with cloud-hosted SAP landscapes (AWS, Azure, or SAP HEC)
  • Experience in real estate, homebuilding, retail, or a related industry
