Job description

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks Sr. Technical Lead - SAP Basis at its facility located at 5757 N. Green Bay Ave, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53209.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide guidance to SAP BASIS administrators and support analysts. Administer the configuration of SAP systems and services for all JCI enterprise data centers as per the defined RACI document. Monitor and evaluate system performance and perform tuning functions to achieve optimal system efficiency and throughput. Monitor system resources utilization and support capacity planning by capturing data, analyzing trends, and making recommendations for HW upsize/downsize. Provide second level of incident and problem management with responsibility for resolution and root cause analysis of the most complex hardware and software issues within operating level agreements. Monitor vendors' support facilities for software updates and recommend and implement maintenance to keep systems current and well within vendors' support requirements. Apply security policies to the SAP and database platforms as determined by the IT security group. Maintain SAP systems and related software including upgrades, preventative and corrective maintenance through the change management process and within scheduled maintenance windows. Provide service continuity by executing backup and recovery processes and procedures to support recovery from hardware and application failures. Maintain disaster recovery plans, procedures and test scenarios and participate in regular DR rehearsals. Maintain SOX procedures, adhere to SOX policies and gather evidence for SOX audits. Maintain knowledge of the latest developments impacting the SAP basis platform and make recommendations that will improve efficiency, throughput, capabilities, and/or capacity. Interface and coordinate with global infrastructure architecture, project engineering, application managed services and business teams. Cooperate with people of different levels inside/outside the company and interact with teams to reach goals and business objectives. Participate in planning and execution of server workload migrations and consolidations in conjunction with the project engineering team. Provide effective technical documentation to clearly communicate procedures and developments to other IT personnel. Recognize and respond to customer expectations with a sense of urgency. Telecommuting: 3 days per week.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience as a SAP Engineer, SAP Analyst, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Utilizing SAP Basis platform (ABAP and JAVA) to keep SAP systems up, accessible, secure, error-free and with optimal performance; (2) Utilizing Linux and Windows skills to manage underlying operating systems; (3) Utilizing HANA database; (4) Utilizing MSSQL, Sybase skills to manage Database systems; and (5) Google and Azure platform skills to manage cloud infrastructure.
