Premier Spine and Orthopedics (PSO) is seeking to hire a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Surgery to participate in the rewarding work of assisting physicians with delivering spine care to our patients. Premier Spine and Orthopedics specializes in offering comprehensive care for neck and back pain in the Central San Joaquin Valley.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of an accredited school of nursing or physician assistance program
  • Board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • National certification
  • Active CA license
  • BLS certification
  • Current CPR
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a clinic setting is preferred
  • First Assist preferred
  • Spine experience

Professional clinical experience in a clinic setting is preferred. Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Coordinates health plan initiatives.
  2. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  3. Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  4. Maintain medical records.
  5. Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
  6. Manage medical and surgical emergencies.
  7. OR assist.
  8. Possible inpatient rounds.
  9. Perform a complete physical examination and record findings.
  10. Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
  11. Review lab and radiology results, in consultation with supervising physician.
  12. Interpret and integrate data and order laboratory studies, x-rays and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  13. Submit patient health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician.
  14. Counsel patients and their families on health promotion, diagnosis, prognosis and management options.
  15. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  16. Instruct patient and authorized family members regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provide patient education.
  17. Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
  18. Home call to cover phone as well as possible inpatient round every 3 weeks.
  19. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  20. Participate in professional development and maintain professional affiliations.
  21. Maintain strictest patient confidentiality in compliance with Federal and State laws.
