Position: Sanitation Specialist
Brand: Krispy Kreme
Reports To: General Manager
Job Overview
The Sanitation Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary shop environment in accordance with Krispy Kreme brand standards, food safety requirements, and health department regulations. This role supports production and retail operations by ensuring all areas of the shop are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained to promote food safety, operational efficiency, and a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Sanitation & Food Safety
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks according to established schedules, procedures, and food safety standards.
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, racks, screens, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Complete sanitation checklists, logs, and documentation as required.

Shop Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Clean production areas, service areas, storage rooms, and walk-in coolers/freezers.
  • Sweep and mop floors, clean drains, and maintain non-slip surfaces.
  • Empty trash and transport waste to designated disposal areas or dumpsters.
  • Clean restrooms, break areas, and exterior areas as assigned.
  • Support basic facility cleanliness and organization to maintain shop readiness.

Operational Support
  • Coordinate sanitation activities with production and retail teams to minimize operational disruption.
  • Identify and report sanitation, safety, or maintenance concerns to leadership.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of production or service areas as needed.
  • Support shop operations during peak periods when assigned.
  • Perform any other cleaning or side work tasks assigned by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Work collaboratively with shop team members and leadership.
